Local Sports Fund 2024

In 2024 the W Initiative sports fund doubles to NOK 2 million. Here you can find more info on how to apply for funding.

For two years in a row, W Initiative has organized a tennis party with Casper Ruud in Trondheim. An event where children in Trondheim and the surrounding area can try out different sports. In December 2022, we established a local sports fund to support children and young people who want to participate in organized sports. 24 local sports teams applied and received support for, among other things, training fees, equipment, travel and cups. The deadline to apply for funding in 2024 was on March 1st 2024.

More cuts in children's sports activities

As a follow-up to the tennis festival, Witzøe created a local sports fund to help more children and young people participate in sports.

- We see how much it means to those who show up. Several of the children here already play sports, but for many this is the first time they set foot in a sports hall. And this year we have managed to invite even more children who, for various reasons, have not had the opportunity to participate in organized sports, says Witzøe, who established the W Initiative in 2021.

2 million

In 2024 we will double the sports fund to NOK 2 million.

Our sports fund

will be distributed to local clubs and sports teams in Trøndelag and the goal is that even more children will have the opportunity to participate in organized sports.

All clubs and sports teams in Trøndelag can apply

The sports fund is for clubs and teams in Trøndelag. Clubs and sports teams registered in NIF can apply for support to cover participation fees for members who need it in 2024 by March 1st 2024. It is up to the clubs to assess the need for support, and there are no other criteria than that the team must be organized in NIF and be located in Trøndelag. The deadline to apply for funding in 2024 was on March 1st 2024.

The support is mainly intended to cover participation fees for low-income families who need support to participate in organized sports.
